Field Officer

Tasmania's Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE) are responsible for managing and preserving the diverse natural and cultural heritage of Tasmania.

Programmed are currently seeking expressions of interest for exciting upcoming opportunities to join the team at Parks and Wildlife Service for full time fixed-term positions at the following locations:

  • Strahan
  • St Helens

As a Field Officer you will be responsible for maintaining field centre infrastructure and facilities for the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources. You will be responsible for following operational plans and specific activity plans to undertake works. As a part of this role you will also need to provide feedback to assist with implementation of plans. You will also provide information, advice and assistance to visitors. Both positions are for a three month fixed term contract initially.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Experience in minor construction works of various buildings, infrastructure and recreational facilities
  • The ability to safety operate and maintain machinery, plant and equipment
  • A knowledge of building regulations and standards
  • A knowledge of fire behaviour and fire operational experience
  • A knowledge of safe working procedures to comply with WH&S regulations

If successful you will be provided with training, a uniform and generous remuneration for your services as well as the opportunity to work for Tasmania's Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.
