Programmed Skilled Workforce are acting on behalf of their highly regarded client, Tasmanian Alkaloids, for the recruitment of an Apprentice Mechanical Maintainer (Fitter). This will be a full-time role for the right person commencing in January 2019.

The role is based within a leading company in Australia, which has been recognised by industry experts as a dynamic and forward thinking company in its field.

As a member of the site's Maintenance Department your day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Mechanical Maintenance of equipment and facilities in conjunction with qualified trades.
  • Completion of work orders in accordance with all safety and permit requirements, any work instructions provided and appropriate standards.
  • Troubleshooting the failed plant or equipment in conjunction with qualified trades; identify defects.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with cGMP.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A strong commitment to achieving Zero Harm;
  • Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in completing an apprenticeship in the Industrial Maintenance industry;
  • A can do attitude, teamed with the ability to work in a team environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with computer literacy;
  • Willingness to take responsibility and accountability for completing tasks to the highest quality;
  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent;
  • A current Drivers Licence; and
  • Completion of a relevant pre-apprenticeship course is advantageous, but not essential.
